This year's five-person jury will view the nominated films live together with the audience and decide on the night from Saturday to Sunday who can take the “Comets” home with them.
The “Deutscher Nachwuchsfilmpreis” is awarded three times equally. It comes with prize money of 2,000 euros each and a one-year producer sponsorship.
The “Bundes Schülerfilmpreis” honors outstanding film work that was created in a school context. This prize is endowed with 2000 euros.
The donor of the prize money is the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The “up-and-coming International Film Award” honors three films from the international program and the winners are included in the international master class film.
